       Welcome to Chicago Academy Elementary School! 

We are a CPS "contract" school, the first of its kind in the Chicago Public Schools, District 299. Located in the former Wright Community College building, The Chicago Academy opened its doors in September 2001 and currently enrolls 600 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight.

 

News & Announcements

  • The school day is 8 am to 3 pm for the 2012-2013 School Year.  Students should arrive between 7:45 and 7:55 am, and be ready to line up in their classrooms at 7:55 am.  Please remember that students should not be on school property before 7:45 am, as there will be no adult supervision provided prior to 7:45 am.
  • Students in K-8 may be dropped of in the circular drive of the parking lot.  Please remember that there is no parking in the drive, and use caution in during drop-off.  Safety for our children is the priority!
  • With warmer weather here, please remember our dress code.  Students must wear shoes with closed toes only (no sandals, flip flops, or any other open-toed shoes).  Also, shorts and skirts must be 2 inches above the knee or longer, and no tank tops are allowed.  Thank you for your help in keeping students safe, as well as removing distractions from learning!

Bell Schedule

The Chicago Academy's school day for the 2012-2013 school year is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

*        7:45-7:55 a.m.  Student arrive to school (No students should arrive prior to 7:45 am)

*        7:55 a.m.  Line up bell rings

*        8:00 a.m.  Students enter the building and instruction begins promptly
